Computer virus infestations

A few weeks ago, my PC was infested by two different computer viruses about one week apart. I am not sure if both were present at the same time. One virus blocked all outgoing network traffic to prevent the downloading of virus scanners (I got around that by sending a scanner to it), the other one corrupted every windows executable file on my all of drives. The only thing that wasn't affected was the game Guild Wars, because the auto-update system overwrote its own executable with a new version. That virus was W32/Tenga.A

Spam filters

A recent problem that has been showing up on my costume renting website is some automated spam on the enquiry form. This is happening to a lot of my clients as well. The result is a generic spam filter that checks for specific things to at least block the main bulk of the automated junk.

Geyser nearly burst

Yesterday when I got home from work, I had the fun that the geyser nearly blew apart, it was already leaking at various seams due to hot water and air pressure. Parts of it were shaking. I just love these unforseen expenses.
